Will this be one of those days that you always remember where you were?
Dominic had a dentist appointment at 11am today, so I watched most of the inauguration at the dentist's office. They have video games there that the kids can play after their appointment and next to those is a TV. I let Dominic play long enough that I made sure I got to see President Obama being sworn in. Actually, during the actual oath of office I made Dominic pause his game and watch. I don't know that he is old enough that he will remember this day, but I wanted the possibility to be there.
We also happened to be watching when he signed some of the initial documents (I can't remember what they were) and I was excited to see that President Obama is left-handed. I pointed it out to Dominic who is also a leftie. (According to the commentator the last 4 presidents have all been left-handed.)
As for the dentist appointment itself, Dominic did well. He had a small cavity and had to get a filling. He didn't react well to having his mouth numb and kept trying to bite his tongue and his cheek. When the dentist let him pick something from the treasure chest, Dominic decided there wasn't anything good in there. The dentist walked away briefly and came back with a stuffed panda bear which actually turned out to be a Webkin. I wish dentists had given out things like that when I was a kid!
